At SelfCare, I provide a secure and supportive space for clients to explore their issues in confidence and safety. Therapy helps my clients to heal and make the desired changes in themselves, their relationships and their life in general. It provides them with the skills and tools to effectively deal with their issues into the future. I work to the ethical guidelines of the Irish Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (IACP), so the client’s safety and well-being is paramount.

Healing is a unique and personal process. I use an integrative approach to counselling, using EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing), Mindfulness, cognitive-behavioural (CBT), person-centered solution-focused approaches as well as other theoretical models, in order to best meet the needs of my clients. Inner-child work and strengthening the relationship with Self are usually at the core of my work. I’m an EMDR-certified trauma therapist (with EMDR Europe).

Depending on your needs, the focus of our work will vary. It might focus on healing and growth, on acquiring new skills to deal with certain people or situations, grieving the past, or improving the most important relationship of all – the relationship with your Self.

You might need to hear yourself think aloud, or learn how to confront a bully, how to be more self-assured and grounded – in a particular situation or generally. You might be in the throes of a life-crisis right now or have an issue or experience from the past holding you back, undermining your well-being and happiness, and robbing you of fulfillment and joy. You might be coping with promotion anxiety or have been sexually abused as a child. You might have lost somebody close and be in a sea of grief. You might be battling with suicidal thoughts or struggling with sexual identity issues. Maybe you are unable to maintain a relationship or have difficulty with intimacy or deep connection. You might feel empty inside or devoid of a grounded connection or sense of who you are. You might suffer debilitating anxiety and panic or your sleep is perpetually bad.
