Counselling & Psychotherapy
Hello, I’m Tom Evans and thanks for visiting this site. At SelfCare I provide a friendly, private and supportive space for my clients – so that you can talk about your concerns in safety. I’m an accredited member of the Irish Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (MIACP), and I’ve been working with clients in Midleton, Cork and online nationwide, since 2005.
I provide short-term solution-focused work, as well as longer-term deeper psychotherapy. I am a certified EMDR (eye movement desensitisation and reprocessing) trauma therapist (certification with EMDR Europe).
I work with individuals over 18 years of age, presenting a wide range of general mental health issue. I work especially with anxiety, trauma (recent, not so recent and childhood trauma), depression, panic attacks, self-esteem/belief/confidence, inner-child recovery, assertiveness, bereavement, suicidation, sexual abuse in childhood, and relationship issues. See Therapy page for more information.
You can call to schedule an appointment or I would be happy to answer any queries. Also, you can send a message via the Contact / Bookings page. Note that sometimes, my replies to your email might end up in your spam folder – so be sure to check – as I generally respond within 24hrs.
Today with Maura and Daithi
I’m honoured to take part in the Today with Maura and Daithí show on RTE TV from time to time. I’ve put together some support pieces on the various issues we’ve discussed on the show. See Blog page for more information.
Below, you’ll find an additional media archive. Also, use the menu tab for links to the Therapy page, Frequently Asked Questions, Facebook, TeamCare (for Business), Blog etc.
